Linda Blade, PhD, has an extensive background in athletics both as an athlete and a coach. A Canadian champion in the multi-events, and an All-American at the University of Maryland, she has coached and advised a number of top Canadian and international athletes in a variety of speed/power events. Most recently, she has used her skills and knowledge from athletics to become a sport performance consultant, where she applies a unique blend of physical conditioning theory and practice to help athletes in any sport excel. In this interview she outlines her approach to sport performance consulting covering everything from assessing athletes’ needs and writing programs to marketing, billing, and insurance. For any coach interested in expanding his or her reach beyond athletics this interview is an inspiring and practical guide on how to get started.
